We were so fortunate to be part of the teams that travel through Nakanai Range. Team 56 was my team. My presiding officer by the name of Mr. Noel Longeri was to lead our team for polling in the inland Pomio area. With him was our polling clark by the name of Moses Lova and I as our assistance presiding officer. It took us quite awhile traveling through Nakanai Range by a helicopter due to bad weather experienced within Pomio District. Our flight took us a long time. Instead of just crossing over from Palmalmal to Mile we took the direction of Lake Hargy in West New Britain Province. From Lake Hargy we travelled east along what is known today as the Nakanai Range. We only ended our long journey when we reach Mile and Pakia the villages which were situated just under the foot of Nakanai Range. It was from there that we headed to our destination. Our flight stopped when we reach Muela. We landed at Muela Primary School and then the helicopter left. During the two weeks of polling in Malboni, Muela and Lele in 2017 general election we witnessed the hardship the people of Nakanai Range were going through. They have to travel for two days on foot to reach the closest town. For them Bialla town in West New Britain Province was the closest though they were from East New Britain Province.
Below is Mt.Ulevun in West New Britain Province when you are standing from Muela Health Centre near Nakanai Range in East New Britain Province .
